Please take this survey!

West Clermont School district is looking at options for Kindergarten for the 2014-2015 school year and would like parental input as we work on building programming. We are doing this by using a brief on-line survey.

Valentine's Day!

First off we welcome Chase to our Wednesday/Friday class and Alayna and Jake to our Tuesday/Thursday class.

We will have Valentine Parties on Wednesday and Thursday of this week.  Cross your fingers and toes that we have school this week.  I don't know about you but I've had enough snow days already!

Your child is welcome to bring in Valentine cards to pass out to his/her friends.  We will decorate bags to bring them home.  We will also have a special Valentine Craft and snack!  You are welcome to send in treats for your child to share but please remember they need to be store bought and not contain peanut or nut products.  We would also appreciate donations of Valentine stickers, table cloths, napkins, plates, paper, etc...

Please encourage your child to write his or her name on their cards and if they would like they can write the names of their friends.

We have slowly transitioned to a post office theme.  This theme correlates very well with Valentine's Day!

Thank you to everyone for the scholastic orders.  You may order anytime by clicking on the link to the right of the blog.

There has been a change to our related services.  Rebecca Brock who was serving the students requiring occupational therapy has been reassigned (due to caseload) and Tanya Losey has been assigned to Clough.  We are sad to lose Ms. Rebecca but I can assure you that Tanya is great.  Tanya and I have worked together on and off for many years.  Also, as many of you know Ms. Katie our speech pathologist is pregnant.  She is due to have her baby in April and a substitute has been assigned.  She is a retired speech path who has experience in preschool.  I'll let you know when Katie goes on maternity leave and when her replacement starts.

Remember never hesitate to call or email me with any questions or concerns.

Try this at home!

I'm always looking for new activities for our class.  One of my recent favorites is mess free finger painting.  We filled large zip-loc bags with paint, sealed them and taped them to the window.  The students had a new way to experiment with color mixing (science).  It is also a great way to work on isolating fingers (precursor to writing).  I hope you try it at home.
